N scale people. They vary in scale by manufacturer but they're usually around 1:150 scale which is close to my sub's scale of 1:144. I've got an order of 100 more people coming but until then I can repaint these guys more drab to look like a sub crew. Most German u-boat crew members were allowed to wear pretty much anything they wanted while on duty, which makes decisions about painting them harder. Also, at the start of the war the Germans seized a huge warehouse of beige British denim uniforms and actually issued those to their own submariners! Most German u-boat crew members had British uniforms! I'm going to cheat and probably make my guys shades of drab blue and grey with oil stained white sailor blouyses. These guys are monstrously huge compared to my z-scale people (1:220) and my t-gauge stuff (1:450). Update: these guys are a bit too tall. I've got others coming but I may put these on a metal plate and hover that over a candle: they heat will melt these guys and they'll get shorter and fatter.
